Profile:

Qin Yiqiang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He received his bachelor’s in 1982 and his doctorate in science in 1998 from Nanjing University’s Department of Physics. In 1999, he started to work at Italy’s Consortium for Researches in Optical Processing and Switching (CORECOM) and the Polytechnic University of Milan, and in 2001, he joined the Photonics Institute of the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) to carry out research on ultrafast nonlinear optics. In 2002, he went to the Department of Physics of the National University of Singapore, participating in a key technology project supported by Singapore’s ministry of national defense. In December 2003, he returned to China and started to work at Nanjing University.

He has taken charge of the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation, sub-projects of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation and the Military Products for Civil Use Project supported by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. So far, he has published over 50 papers on such international journals as Physical Review Letters, Physical Review, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Letters and Optics Express and has applied for 10 invention patents at home and abroad. He is also a member of the editorial board of High Power Laser and Particle Beams and a council member of Jiangsu Society of Physics.
