| Nuclear science and engineering; accelerator physics and engineering; high-power solid state amplifier Profile: After receiving his doctorate from Lanzhou University in 2000, Sun An worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA, and as a physicist at Jefferson Laboratory, USA. Beginning in 2005, he worked as a senior researcher and project leader at the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute, and as a responsible researcher and project leader at Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea. Now, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nanjing University, and a director of Proton Linear Accelerator Institute in Energy Science Institute, Nanjing University. He is listed in the National Science and Technology Award winners’ expert database. He is a leader of the project supervision team of the National Key Scientific Instrument and Equipment Development Project. He was selected into the Recruitment Program of Global Experts in 2013.
