Courses: Mechanics Profile: Xia Yidong received his bachelor's in 2000 and doctorate in 2005 from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanjing University. In 2005, he did his post-doctoral research at the Department of Physics, Nanjing University. In 2009, he was selected into the “Nanjing University Young Core Teachers Training Program.” In 2013, he was awarded “Nanjing University – Bank of China Faculty Fellowship.” Since 2000, his research has focused on synaptic-like memristors / artificial cognitive devices and materials; fusion and storage technology; resistive memories and storage materials; film material for microwave phase shifters of phased array radar. For these subjects, he has published more than 70 SCI papers in Scientific Reports, Applied Physics Letters and other journals. In addition, he has participated in the compilation of a monograph and has obtained 8 Chinese invention patent authorizations. He has taken charge of a number of national, provincial and ministerial research projects, as well as an “Innovation Research Plan Project of Huawei Company.” He is currently an overseas review expert for the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and a member of the Editorial Board of the international journal The Scientific World.
